Recognizing a once-in-a-decade branding opportunity during the transition from Butler Blue III to Blue IV, my team and I strategically pitched the narrative to Netflix producers. This collaboration resulted in “Much Ado About Blue,” arguably the most significant piece of university media since the back-to-back Final Four runs. The documentary served as a global catalyst, doubling the mascot’s social media growth and cementing his status as an international icon.

What is better than one dog mascot? Two, obviously. One of the greatest advantages of a premier live mascot program is the ability to captivate an audience regardless of the scoreboard.

This is never more apparent than during our trips to the Northeast to visit our Big East “frenemies” at UConn.

Over the past six years, we have cultivated a strategic partnership between our two programs to leverage each other’s social media audiences, ensuring brand growth remains a win, no matter the final score.
